As the Post 16 Centre, we pride ourselves in teaching to destinations and we are delighted that our Year 13 students have some impressive destinations planned.
The final school year for our Y13 students may have been cut short but Covid-19 hasn't deterred our students from pursuing their dreams.
The coronavirus pandemic has not stopped our student leavers aspiring to bright futures. This year’s ambitious Year 13 students, whose school life came to an abrupt end in March, have secured places on a wide range of universities courses, college courses, apprenticeship schemes and employment. Out of the 200 students in the year group, 171 students (85.5%) of students secured a place at their chosen university, with 25.7% of those students enrolling at a top third ranking university. A further 9 students secured a place on a degree level apprenticeship. The remaining students had a positive exit from their education including the Armed Forces, Full Time Employment, FE College.
2 students have been successful in gaining a place at the University of Oxford – Georgia Fields to study Chemistry and Anelia Simpson to study Biochemistry (Molecular and Cellular), whilst Madison Allardyce has gained a place at the University of Cambridge to study History.
14 students embarked on courses directly linked to the medical or veterinary profession which are some of the highest demanding courses offered and reflects the dedication of our students in these challenging times.
4 students have been successful in gaining a place in the Armed Forces. Royal Air Force is Daniel Hadlow (Cyber Safe Communications) and Sara Smith (Medic), Royal Navy is Archie Law and Ethan Warner is joining the Army.
All of our students who completed their studies in 2020 warrant recognition for their determination to succeed and need to be celebrated.
This is just an overview of the fantastic achievements our students have made and how with dedication to their studies, research and support from the Centre our students have achieved their goals for the next stage of their lives, as they embark upon those journeys very well-equipped for the challenges that await them.
