In the absence of a physical open evening, we are delighted to showcase our Post 16 Centre as a virtual tour. Please click on the link below to take you to our virtual open evening event, including a tour of the Centre, an introduction to Post 16 education from Mrs Shea, Head of Outwood Post 16 Centre and subject specific presentations.
Year 11 Taster Days are aimed at any student who is considering continuing with their education at Outwood Post 16 Centre. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Taster Days may not take place this year.
In light of this, you will have already selected the three / four subject areas you are considering to study at the Centre. During the summer term our online transition programme will commence. You will be invited to join google classrooms for any of the subjects we offer. Our staff will set a programme of information, sample lessons and tasks for you to complete. This will provide you with an insight into the subjects you are considering to ensure you know you are on the right courses for you. You can access as many subjects as you like and this is particularly useful if you are undecided between a number of subjects.
We are hopeful that this experience will give you an insight into the subjects you would like to pursue in the future or indeed help you to decide whether the Post 16 Centre and A-Levels/Level 3 Applied Generals are right for you.
Work experience is an excellent attribute to add to any university, apprenticeship or employment application. At Outwood Post 16 Centre, we actively assist students to gain valuable work experience. Currently there are many universities and local employers offering virtual work experience to ensure students are not disadvantaged.
